Born and raised in Southern California, Becky Misso has spent the last ten years exploring a side of herself that remained hidden. An urge to express her dreams, to share the kaleidoscope of color that fills her mind, became a reality in her late twenty's. Encouraged by her family and friends, she painted what she saw in her imagination. Experimenting with different mediums, Becky chose to work with Acrylics, and began on seascapes. Today, her sweeping, panoramic views of paradise explode with color, and her restful homes capture that moment when we all wish we could escape the world.
As she tells it "I can see every beach in the world in my mind. Perfect places, where you can hear the ocean waves crashing on the shore and the wind whispering through the palms. I can see in my mind the shimmer of moonlight as it ripples across the ocean, imagine the glint of sunlight as it pierces the waves. I wanted to share what I saw in my mind as I let my imagination roam. My goal as an artist is to take you, for a moment, on a journey. I want to transport you to your vey own paradise, where you can experience the world as it comes to a slow crawl. Time slows, people recede, the world looks elsewhere and you can, for a moment, remember that life is meant to be enjoyed."
Early on Becky began exhibitng at art fairs and shows thoughout Southern California. Self-taught, she was met with widespread acclaim fo her at as collectors immediately recognized the passion with which they were painted. After several years spent refiing her abilities, she left to explore the art community within Las Vegas. Opening her own gallery, her works were again received with acclaim, as collectors added her art to their homes. However, unable to esist the pull of the oceans she so vividly painted, she has eturned to her roots. Today she resides in San Diego, where her passion for painting can be viewed in upcoming shows.
